About Himalayan Forest Research Institute

The Himalaya Forest Research Institute (HFRI) was established during May 1977 as a high-level conifer regeneration research center for research on the problem associated with natural regeneration of silver cedar and spruce. The institute operates from a single room in the "Kennedy House" and later made its humble beginning from the center, an independent building "Press Villa" beginning in 1978 with increased research activities near the Americas Club.
